Both sides power sliding doors had a cable broken that activates automatic door function, it also obstructs manually opening doors creating an egress hazard. both doors can only be manually opened partial way. average person enters/exits rear seats with great difficulty due to the sliding door obstruction.
Unintended acceleration problem. two episodes, months apart, both at very low speed. was stopped behind two cars. two cars in front started up to go through intersection. i took my foot off the brake and moved it to the gas pedal. car started up normally. then a child pushed to crosswalk signal which started to flash. i moved my foot to the brake pedal, and the car started slowing down normally, but then the car suddenly lurched forward. both i and the passenger thought we had been rear-ended (but there was no car behind). it was a similar feeling to when the cruise control kicks in to accelerate, but no cruise control had been activated. i took my foot off the brake and slammed it back on the brake, and the car stopped. the previous episode had a similar series of events.
1) seatbelt twists and gets jammed in the guide near the retractor. seat belt pulls out, but then will not retract as it is wedged in the guide.this has happened numerous times, but now it is quite wedged. and unusable at the moment. 2) cable that pulls the side door open and closed has rusted and broken. this was subject to a toyota voluntary service campaign, but my problem started after the expiration of the service campaign.
While driving on the highway on a slight curve on dry pavement the slip indicator light would come on and the alarm sound eventually causing the brakes to engage and the car to jerk on its own without warning. this happens so often that it's dangerous to drive the van with my family.
The cable to the passenger side automatic door snapped. the passenger side automatic door is now manual due to exorbitant cost of repairs. it was discovered when the vehicle was stationary.
Both back sliding door cables snapped. have been advised the motors siezed causing the cables to snap. neither door works. driver's side door can only open 6 inches. this is a safety hazard in event of emergency. my children can not get out of the car and can not operate the one door able to manually open. fix has been estimated at $1900 per door. toyota knows this is an issue. they issued a customer warrantee enhancement for it but it has expired. they refuse to reopen it. there has been a recall for this on the 2004-2009 model year and currently a recall for this for 2011-2018 models but not the 2010. there are hundreds of toyota sienna's on the road with this issue and it is completely unsafe and totally unacceptable that toyota refuses to take responsibility for the 2010's and cover the costs to fix the problem.
While on a highway or freeway speeds of 35 to 70 mph while turning on a curve the slip indicator light comes on, causing the vehicle to slow down on a jerk motion as the brakes apply by itself. this can also happen on a sharp curve turning onto the freeway. it's very dangerous situation.
3 issue with 5tdkk3dc2fs[xxx] toyota sienna 2015 le van *1 - seat belt - 2nd row driver side seat belt cannot be wear. cannot wear seat belt as the red part that fastens the seat belt clip does not work. unable to fasten seat belt in the 2nd row seat behind driver. 2* at 30,000 miles with proper careful driving brake lights turn on in rain - all the lights start to flash in dashboard. *3- front driver side bumber where it meets the fender does not hold bumper properly. the clips that hold bumper are not made properly. i have seen at least 4 toyota sienna with same issues at different places of same model / design. when push back to fix the number it stays and after short 5-10 miles drive it comes back loose again. so i have to keep pushing the bumper back. i have the van for over a year now. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt
