2011 toyota sienna, front suspension making noises and clicking. air conditioning not working when car is idling. rear backing camera does not work only in the night time. . and it has been at the multiple toyota dealerships and they can. not figure it out.
Driving 35-55 mph and going around (usually) a left curve on the highway or interstate, van suddenly brakes, swerves, and traction control/vehicle stability control light pops on. whole episode lasts a second or two, then its fine. it wont happen again for the duration of the trip. i only drive the van on weekends, and it has happened three times in the past two weeks. it has nearly caused a serious accident.
Our 2016 toyota sienna spontaneously caught fire while parked in our driveway after returning from a short drive. after pulling into our driveway and shutting off the ignition, my wife smelled smoke as she was exiting the parked vehicle. this smoke intensified and quickly accelerated becoming an engine compartment fire. she called for me & then called 911; but in the brief moments it took me to grab a fire extinguisher, the fire further intensified with sizable flames erupting out from around the hood, front grill & underneath the vehicle. i used up 2 fire extinguishers without any significant effect. i did not have any protective safety gear so after hearing several small explosions coming from under the hood & fearing more exposure to noxious fumes, i decided to abandon my attempts to extinguish the fire. the fire dept. arrived within a few minutes and were able to put the fire out; however, the fire progressed through the initial attack and entered the passenger compartment causing severe damage to the entire vehicle (see attached photos). the sienna is completely destroyed. fortunately, there were no injuries. i have been made aware of multiple incidents of ...

The van started fine this morning. drove the kids to school. the van started again just fine. made a stop on the way back home, and the van would not start. passerby gave a jump and it started after about 10 minutes of charging. the battery had completely drained...even the radio wasn't working.
Both back sliding door cables snapped. have been advised the motors siezed causing the cables to snap. neither door works. driver's side door can only open 6 inches. this is a safety hazard in event of emergency. my children can not get out of the car and can not operate the one door able to manually open. fix has been estimated at $1900 per door. toyota knows this is an issue. they issued a customer warrantee enhancement for it but it has expired. they refuse to reopen it. there has been a recall for this on the 2004-2009 model year and currently a recall for this for 2011-2018 models but not the 2010. there are hundreds of toyota sienna's on the road with this issue and it is completely unsafe and totally unacceptable that toyota refuses to take responsibility for the 2010's and cover the costs to fix the problem.
Dear to who concern this case, on august 26, 2019, i purchased a brand new car, sienna, toyota 2020 from principle toyota on 7370 winchester rd, memphis, tennessee 38125. i discovered that there are major issues with the car. i was guaranteed by the dealer that the car is in perfect working condition before purchase. however, after driving the new car for few days, the key remote stopped working and i revisited the dealership to get it fixed. i talked to jimmy rocker, one of the sale associates, and he transferred me to the toyota service center. after few more days of driving the car, more problems emerged. the car warning monitor indicated 'awd system malfunction 2wd mode engaged, contact your dealer' as well as 'brake override malfunction, visit your dealer'. not only the warnings, the car suddenly stopped on the highway. luckily there were no cars behind me, otherwise i would have been injured. the second time i revisited the dealership, i encountered chris thompson, the new car director at principle toyota. i suggested him to inspect my car and finding a solution for it. i have tried to explain to ...
Recently started having this issue while driving on the highway. when changing lanes my door open indicator light as well as the exclamation inside the triangle will illuminate on my dash, a beeping sound starts chiming and all the interior lights come on. this happens about 15 times in a 20 minute period. its very aggravating and distracting. it has gotten worse and does it on side streets and lower speeds as well now. i have done some trouble shooting of my own and realize that it only happens when i have a window cracked or down. if the windows are up it will also happen with sharp turns ending with abrupt braking. i have been pulled over 3 times in a 4 month period because of the lights going on and off. police seem to think i'm sending some type of code for them to help me! it is ridiculous. aside from this lighting/ door issue i am also having trouble with the sliding doors closing on me while trying to remove my 10 month old son from his carseat. i bought this van used at 99,000 miles. i now have around 120,000. i believe this should be an ...
Rear passenger power sliding door. problem started with only being able to open from the outside. now we cannot open from the inside or outside with power or manual mode. we have children and feel this is a severe safety issue. from what i've been researching there was an extended warranty for this but ours is out of this range. apparently this is a problem with a number of toyota minivans. apparently there's a cable issue involved. we don't feel safe with our children in the car
Started having problem with the doors on the van the front door was the first problem with a failed door cheek causing the door not to be able to be opened had to force it open and remove the door cheek due to a weld that had broken away from the door is why it failed and the second was the power sliding door on the passenger side the door quite working and then when switched into the manual mode i was unable to get the door to close or it would close them come back open it took almost a hour to get it to close and stay closed. this being the car i transport my kids in that's a big safety issue to me knowing the door may not work or may not say closed while driving please help.
