In november 2009 while parking my car in store parking, my foot was on brake my car accelerated, suddenly jumped on the 1 foot high footpath and crash...
Just before the vehicle comes to a full stop, there is unintended acceleration and i could see even the rpm(scale) to spike temporarily. this has been happening every time when outside temp is cold and vehicle is driven with cold or slightly above cold engine temperature. there is a risk of hitting another vehicle or meeting accident if misjudge my braking because of this problem. however it does it even on highway under normal temperature while i'm braking or slowing down.
Pulled out into oncoming traffic and vehicle hesitated and would not accelerate. dash lights came on and car stalled. attempted to crank van and it restarted but would barely move with the accelerator pressed fully. had to call a tow truck to have it delivered to the dealer. i called toyota road side assistance number and 2.5 later no one showed up. called again and demanded a different tow company respond and 30 minutes later someone was at the scene. this episode stated 230 pm and van was picked up 637pm.
When driving at speeds of 38 mph or more and turning the steering wheel/tires, the vsc warning alarm will go off. when this happens, the cars automatically brakes. this happens when there are no problems with the driving conditions. the severity of the braking and length of alarm vary. it is especially problematic on tight turns. it does not matter whether you are going uphill, downhill, or turning on a flat road. we do not know what is causing this unsafe issue. we have tried turning off the trac. it made no difference.
Driving on the highway, let off the gas though kept accelerating, braked as hard as possible without any effect, shifted to neutral and continued to accelerate
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota sienna. while coasting with traffic, the vehicle's accelerator pedal suddenly traveled to the floorboard, causing the vehicle to accelerate at high speeds. the accelerator pedal remained depressed. the contact attempted to depress the brake pedal, but the vehicle did not stop. the contact was able to move the vehicle over to the side lane as it continued to accelerate. the contact engaged the emergency brake, which caused the vehicle to slow down slightly. the contact then moved the gear shift into the park position and the vehicle stopped violently. the vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic. the vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 90,000.*dt *tr
When driving under normal conditions the vehicles' vsc will engage. the dashboard lights go off, there is a loud interior beeping sound, the abs engages, the car slows down drastically at once. the roads are dry. at first this happened while driving normal speed exiting or entering an hwy off/on ramp. then happened yesterday as i was driving on neighborhood streets at about 25-30 mph. i could hear a rubbing on the back tires as if the brakes were on.
Tl* the contact owned a 2006 toyota sienna. when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle independently accelerated towards an intersection. as a result, the contact crashed into two other vehicles. the contact's vehicle came to a stop when it crashed into a pole. the contact suffered injuries to the back, neck, shoulder, chest, knees, and hips. the passenger suffered injuries to the shoulder and stomach. medical attention was received. huntington beach police was at the scene and filed report number: [xxx]. the vehicle was towed. the manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: [xxx]. the contact also stated that the manufacturer's engineer would inspect the vehicle to determine the cause of the failure. the vehicle was destroyed. the approximate failure mileage was 112,297.*pm ('parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).')*jb
On june 6, 2019 at approximately 6 pm my vehicle experienced unintended acceleration. i was driving at 15 mph and it accelerated to 40-50 mph. braking did not slow down the vehicle. i jumped the curb and hit three small trees. it came to a halt after undercarriage damage had been sustained. it was towed to cummings mobility where i purchased the vehicle. they could not determined what caused the unintended acceleration.
I was turning left on country road at 25mph the car decelerate and yellow warning came on the dealer said the car thought it was going to roll over they did the soft ware up date the car still decalrate yellow light come on most of time when starting up
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 toyota sienna. while driving approximately 45-50 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. additionally, the vehicle decelerated independently on occasion. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. larry h miller toyota colorado springs (located at 5115 new car dr, colorado springs, co 80923, (719) 419-5832) was notified of the failure. the contact stated that the failure recurred on several occasions. the manufacturer was not contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 10,000. the consumer stated the while backing out of a parking space, the vehicle suddenly stopped reversing and the engine began to rev up as if the gas pedal was being depressed. the vehicle was put into park and back into reverse. the issue resolved itself. the braking system would shutter when in snow or ice causing the vehicle to vibrate violently and lose traction. *js
