When the car is at idle speed, such as waiting for traffic to clear for a left turn, the car will just die without warning. It will usually restart right away, but this has nearly caused a collision. The dealership in bellevue, wa says that's a normal thing if the car isn't properly maintained. I have brought the car to that dealership for all but one of the maintenance intervals, and the only other time was for…

Our 2016 toyota sienna spontaneously caught fire while parked in our driveway after returning from a short drive. After pulling into our driveway and shutting off the ignition, my wife smelled smoke as she was exiting the parked vehicle. This smoke intensified and quickly accelerated becoming an engine compartment fire. She called for me & then called 911; but in the brief moments it took me to grab a fire…

I pulled onto a highway and reaching about 25 mph the 2019 sienna hesitated for at least 10 seconds as if it was not getting gas. I pressed the gas wanting to get out of the way of traffic and it jumped slightly but would not go. Then it kicked in with a few hesitations and took off. Another 100' or so, it did it again. Prior to this i had already brought it to toyota complaining that there is a hesitation when the…

When vehicle is in motion and i take my foot off the accelerator to coast to yield to oncoming traffic, but then see my way clear to accelerate into traffic and put my foot on the gas to enter the traffic flow, my vehicle stalls and won't accelerate. Where normal acceleration and "pick up" would enable me to enter traffic safely, there have been numerous occasions when i have almost been hit by other vehicles. My…

Interior of van was consumed with fuel vapors. Exterior front of van engine compartment also smells like a fuel leak. Problem taken to dealer and they could not find the source of leak. Van was released to me in a unsafe condition. Intermittent fuel smell became more progressive to the point the van was not able to be driven to to saftey concern of fire. Second trip to dealer they could not find source of fuel leak.…

Takata recall. My 2014 toyota sienna was in motion on the highway going a steady 75 mph. And the trac off light went on and we tried turning it off like we usually do whenever we turn it on on accident. And after a mile down the highway it started fuming intensely so we stopped at a gas station.

The top hinge of the fuel filler door broke at 82000 miles. It now does not allow the automatic sliding door on the drivers side to open because of the safety mechanism. The hinge broke when i opened the door during refueling.
