Re; recall 14v273000, never had a failure, had original recall done yet service dept cut off spare tire carrier cable and relocated spare tire to inside of vehicle. wife is handicapped and we cannot use the rear of the vehicle to transport her mobility scooter. i believe waiting 7+ months for a fix is unreasonable, especially since spare tires have been located under vehicles for decades.i would hope toyota could come up with a fix instead of sitting around and doing nothing ! *tr

2007 toyota sienna. consumer writes in regards to loss of rear view monitor/ camera when vehicle battery dies. *smd the consumer stated she could not find a sentence or a paragraph in the owner's manual, explaining how to recover the loss of the rear view monitor/camera after the battery died. the dealer informed the consumer, the navigation system would have to be sent to california. the consumer ordered a map dvd through an independent vehicle repair garage and had it loaded and that reactivated the rear view camera, cd player and radio. *jb

My complaint involves the toyota sienna minivan (mine is a 2007). i believe toyota is aware of a defect in the rear ac lines which causes them to prematurely corrode near the rear axle. this causes a release of the refrigerant into the atmosphere and mandates the lines be replaced by the owner at a cost of app. $1200. my vehicle was purchased new in may 2007 and has 45k miles- no accidents, always properly maintained. this van was recently recalled for excess corrosion in the spare tire carrier which causes the spare tire to fall out. the following is a quote from their press release: the recall includes certain 1998 through 2010 model year sienna 2wd vehicles equipped with a spare tire and operated in cold climate areas with high road salt use. in addition to the district of columbia, vehicles currently registered in the following cold climate states with high road salt usage are covered by this recall: connecticut, delaware, illinois, indianna, kentucky, massachusetts, maryland, maine, michigan, minnesota, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, virginia, vermont, wisconsin and west virginia. the ...

The installed dvd navigation system in our sienna has failed. this in it's self is not a safety concern, but it's failure has also caused the back-up camera to become inoperative. we use this extensively and the sudden loss of it is almost as bad as loosing all your rear view mirrors. *tr
