Driving on the highway just north of merritt bc approximately 60 mph the sun roof blew out dropping glass inside our van and on top of the driver and passenger. had the sunroof taped and sealed by speedy glass until we get home to check warranties and insurance. *tr

I have been the owner of two 2006 sienna vans and both have had failure of both of the side mirrors. the mirrors become floppy and will not hold their position. this results in the loss of blind spot visibility on both sides of the vehicle. there is no specific incident that causes the failure. it is expensive to fix and would seem to be a safety issue. while there have been several close calls of attempting to change lanes and thinking the mirror was in the correct position only to find there was a vehicle in the blind spot i have avoided an accident. *tr

The driver-side mirror with dimming, blinker, hest and folding in capability has failed. the motor that controls the mirror constantly runs and the mirror opens and closes with the wind direction. i tried to find a replacement part but all the replacement parts have the same motor problem. the dealership requires a entire mirror replacement and repaint. *tr

(1) the vehicle was in motion, in slow-moving, dense traffic on a highway. (2) without warning, the driver-side, rear passenger window suddenly shattered. the entire glass broke into mostly small pieces about 1 cm, most of which fell into the passenger cabin, on the floor and seats. a few big pieces up to 10 cm also fell in the cabin. the window was closed before it shattered. there was no collision with any vehicle. the driver and passenger did not witness anything that could have hit the window. there was no external damage to the rest of the vehicle. the vehicle had never suffered any collision or vandalism or impact prior to this incident. (3) the window will soon be repaired. *jb

Sliding sunroof has mechanical issue when driving. at higher speeds over 45 mph the mechanism which goes down when sunroof is closing will go down. when the vehicle slows down the mechanism raises. the vehicle's sunroof has been looked at twice by the dealer and they state there is no solution for it and that they test drove another 2006 xle limited and its sunroof did the same thing. *nm

The windshield has optical distortion causing eye strain, watery eyes, headaches, nausea, dizziness. toyota says "all siennas are like this" so they will not replace the windshield. *nm

I bought a brand new 2006 toyota sienna van at fred anderson toyota dealer in raleigh, nc june 06, 2006. five weeks later, while our family is driving from the church in a sunday morning, the glass window behind the driver exploded like a car bomb without being hit by anything. luckily, nobody got hurt and i managed to stop the van to check out what happened. i got the van back to the dealer the day after and they fixed the van window. we expressed our concern on the safety of the glass window because two weeks before our incident, a friend of us who also bought a 2006 toyota sienna van , also got a similar incident while she drove her van to work. when we came to take the van back after the dealer fix the window, there was a lady who also came to the dealer office to fix her 2006 van broken window. three incidents in the short period of time at a small place like here sound something seriously wrong with this van windows. we requested the dealer and the toyota corporation to provide us with the ...

In july 2006, about two weeks after purchasing our new 2006 toyota sienna, the airbag off light came on. before we could take it for service someone broke into our mini van and it was in the shop for a month being repaired. the light came on again about a month later, but the dealer, balise toyota in west springfield, ma, reset it during an oil change. in mid october, my wife was broadsided in her door by a honda civic. none of the airbags, including the side curtain airbags deployed. the mini van was in the shop for another month, and the dealer again reset the light, which had come on, apparently during the crash. since october the van has been serviced five or six times for this problem. the dealer's service manager told us in january that toyota in compliance with federal regulations, designed the airbags to permanently turn off if a heavy person rode in the car. the dealership refused to turn the airbags back on again, and claimed that there was no fix for this because it was intentional. other dealers ...
