Driver door started to have a snapping/popping sound when opening and closing the door. Sound got worse and felt harder to close. Before bringing it to my mechanic i did a google search of the problem. Found out it to be a known problem and toyota didn't call for a recall but extended the warranty to two extra years (5 years) or 100,000 miles. Mileage on my van is 70,000 miles but 5 years 9 months old, 9 months pass…

The 2005 toyota sienna i own was under 100000 miles when i began to noticed the unusual noise from driver side front door, and later became click sound when door was opened as well as closed. I did not receive any notification about the warranty extension on this problem. I strongly feel this is a car design issue instead of material as i checked through available information to me that, this issue only happened to…

The drivers side door makes a crackling/scraping noise as if a hinge or metal component is broken. We had received a recall notice from toyota to come in to have the problem repaired, if the problem existed. It did not exist when letter was received - letter said file this recall info if the problem did not exist. So we filed it. Then later the problem occurred and when we took the van in for repair the dealership…

Bought a new toyota sienna from alderman's in rutland vt. It is a 2005 model. Eggress to the back two rows of seats is by means of two large electronically controlled doors. One can not be opened at all and has to be replaced. Dealer says this is a problem that they have encountered before. The other he managed to get operable but my wife has trouble getting the door shut as it is very stiff. It is very dangerous to…

The front door was constantly starting to have a clicking issue upon full extent of door for quite some time. Front door hinge clicking. Requested fix as per recall. I left the car so the door could be fixed. I picked it up after being repaired and on the same day when the door was normally placed into a full extension i heard the same problem. It was much quieter than the previous clicking. I requested a recheck…

We own a 2005 toyota sienna xle minivan and at 75,000 miles the driver side sliding door hinges/rollers and latching mechanism have failed and the motor and cable for the power door opening system also need to be replaced because the defective hinges/rollers and latches put to much strain on the mechanism. Toyota wants over $2,000 to service this door and the other door (preventable maintenance). Because of the…

My 2005 toyota sienna xle awd vehicle's automatic side doors become stuck and will not open. It happens in cold weather and is very upsetting because if i have attempted to open the door and then it will not open when i drive it i am afraid it might become "unstuck" and open on it's own. I called the dealer about the problem and they told my to bring it in and they would grease the doors but that is not the problem.…

2005 toyota sienna. Liftgate will not stay open or closed using the remote. Struts have been replaced (twice) by the dealer. The problem still exists. They did extend the warranty to deal with this kind of problem, but will only fix it if the strut was causing the problem. They "think" it may be the motor, but really don't know. *tr
